Welcome to metro 2026

  • Metro 2026 is almost here!! Josh and I, along with the Metro Board, cannot wait to welcome you to the Best Week Ever :)

The theme for Metro this year is “Legacy.” I can’t wait for us to have time to unpack this together and consider how we are making a lasting mark in our families and with our students.

We want each of you to know that you are welcome just as you are. You don’t have to be “on” or feel the pressure to be an alternate version of yourself. We want YOU!

We are all coming from different seasons of life and ministry. We want to recognize that some of you might be:

    • On the mountaintop

    • In the lowest valley

    • Struggling in your place of ministry

    • Happier than you’ve ever been

    • Excited to be with friends or meet new friends

    • Anxious about meeting new friends

    • Excited to have a break from work and kids

    • Stressing about taking a week off or leaving your kids

    • Ready to wear all your cute outfits and have some fun

    • Anxious about how you look or what clothes you’ll wear

This list could go on and on. We are praying that Metro is a week of rest, connection, encouragement, and fun! Metro is a sweet time to see that you are not alone in ministry. I have found community and lifelong friends in the women at Metro. Looking forward to this week with all of you!!

You will find below: a Frequently Asked Questions page and our Schedule.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you have leading up to Metro. Can’t wait to see you soon!

  • Can we bring our kids?

It is the historical suggestion of YP Metro for children not to attend.  It is the hope for this to be a week for you and your spouse to get away and invest in your relationship with God and each other. Please go ahead and line up childcare for your kids at home. However, we do make an exception for infants under the age of one.  If your baby is joining you, please let us know.

    What do I wear?

For dinners, husbands dress nice and ladies typically go with dressy, casual/cute outfits (think dresses, white jeans, whatever you feel your best in is fine).  Dinner on Sunday night is outside so plan for that if the evening gets a little chilly.  On Tuesday night, you will have an opportunity to have photos taken as a couple. You may want to coordinate with your spouse so make sure to plan for that. Many wives wear a cute dress Tuesday night. But again, whatever you feel best in!

During sessions, go casual and comfortable! Keep in mind the room may be on the cooler side!  Guys are typically wearing shorts and t-shirts.  Ladies wear a cute top, t-shirt, sweatshirt, shorts, jeans, leggings, comfy dress whatever you are comfortable in.

    What do meals look like?

Men have breakfast during their sessions Monday-Thursday.  Wives sessions start a little later so breakfast is on your own Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Wives will have an optional grab-n-go breakfast option on Tuesday morning. Wednesday and Thursday provide opportunities to grab breakfast/coffee with friends!

Lunch is provided everyday!  Husbands and wives will come together following session times to eat lunch with everyone poolside. Plan accordingly and bring your sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, etc.

Dinner is provided on Sunday night at Tommy Bahamas and Tuesday night at Watercolor.  On Monday and Wednesday, you are on your own. We recommend finding another couple or 12 and go eat together and grab dessert after…it is always so fun!  Restaurant suggestions will be provided!

Do we hang out on the beach?

Yes!  Get out there as much as you can!  We sped collective time on the beach most afternoons! After lunch, go change and grab your beach bag!  A towel is provided for you!  Bring chairs if you have them and are driving!  FYI tents are not allowed on the beach.  On Monday and Tuesday, there will be a friendly competition tournament. If you aren’t playing in the tournament, then it’s such a fun time to sit around and chat.  Outside of that, head out to the beach when you can…walk, run, read in the mornings.

Do I have to attend everything?

If it is on the schedule and not listed as optional, then we have planned for you to be there and participate.  The goal is that you attend sessions and activities to learn, grow, connect, build community and have a lot of fun.

    Where are the sessions?

Everyone meets upstairs in the clubhouse of Tops’l Racquet Club & Fitness Center.  The men meet in the main room when you get up the stairs, and the wives meet just down the hall in the Wimbledon Room.  The start times are different so please think about this before hand. You can easily walk, but if one of you drives, make sure to keep in mind the other won’t have a car.  It is recommended to ride together with a friend as there is limited parking at the fitness center.

    What are the sessions like?

These look different for the men and wives.  Bring your Bible and tools to take notes. Come prepared for a time to learn and be encouraged.

The men start early with breakfast, a time of worship/prayer, multiple speakers, sponsor spotlights and some giveaways.  On Thursday, the sessions conclude with a Business meeting.

On Monday and Tuesday, the ladies can think of it as one big brunch (minus snacks) with 50 of their friends.  We will have a refreshing water station + coffee bar. We have a speaker, chat, pray, and have some really fun giveaways too.  On Wednesday we will have a time of worship, intentional prayer, and will join our husbands for a joint session on marriage prior to lunch! On Thursday, it’s time to pack and join in for {optional } opportunities for connection before joining everyone for our final lunch together.
